Is Untamed Cat Food Good for Cats with Dental Issues?Updated 16 days ago
Keeping your cat's teeth healthy is a big part of their overall well-being! If your feline friend is dealing with dental issues, choosing the right food can make a significant difference. Here's how Untamed recipes can support their oral health.
Why Food Choice Matters for Dental Health
For cats with existing dental problems, or to help prevent future ones, it's crucial to steer clear of highly processed, high-carbohydrate foods. These types of foods tend to cling to your cat's teeth, contributing to the buildup of plaque, which can worsen dental issues.
Untamed: A Smart Choice for Dental Support
The great news is that both our delicious gravy and jelly wet food recipes are remarkably low in carbohydrates (approximately 1%). This makes them an excellent choice for cats with dental issues. Our recipes are designed to provide complete nutrition without the sticky, carb-heavy ingredients that can lead to dental concerns.
By offering a low-carb diet, Untamed helps to:
- Reduce Plaque Buildup: Less sticky residue means less material for plaque to form on.
- Support Oral Hygiene: A diet that doesn't exacerbate dental problems is key to maintaining good oral health.
What About Pate?
While we currently offer our shredded-style wet food in gravy and jelly, we understand that some cats (especially those with very sensitive teeth or missing teeth) might prefer a pate consistency. While we aren't able to offer pate recipes at the moment, this is certainly something we will keep in mind for future recipe development!
